How To Succeed Taking Surveys

These days, most survey websites have some sort of artificial intelligence built into them. They can detect, over a series of surveys, if your answers have been truthful and consistent.

Being deceptive or careless about the answers you provide can easily get you kicked off the survey platform.

So here are the rules for succeeding with surveys:

  • Surveys should not be your primary or secondary source of income. They should only be supplemental to all your other sources of income.
  • Sign up with several survey sites. One survey site is not going to make taking surveys worthwhile.
  • Get a dedicated e-mail address for surveys. That’s because when you start signing up for these survey websites, your e-mail might get flooded with offers.
  • Be honest and consistent in the answers you provide. There are no right or wrong answers. Trying to provide an answer you think the survey company wants to hear might get you kicked off the platform. There’s no point in conducting a survey if they’re not getting truthful answers.
  • Manage your expectations. Survey websites are not places to get rich or make “free” money. Trust me, completing one of these surveys takes time and thought. You actually have to read the questions and put some thought into your answers.
  • Watch out for the trick questions. Survey companies usually ask the same question three or four different ways, and they expect your answers to be consistent all the time. For example, “what year did you graduate from high school?” and twenty questions down the road, “What year were you born?” might seem innocent, but they’re tied together. They test your honesty and consistency.
  • Have fun with it. You are never going to be able to pay your rent or car note with the money you make from taking surveys. Don’t take it seriously. Have fun, and do it at your leisure.
  • Follow the rules and make sure you qualify before completing a survey. You don’t want to waste 20 or 30 minutes of your time taking a survey you’re not qualified to take in the first place. This will only be a waste of time. The survey company is not going to pay you if you don’t meet their qualifying requirement. If you are less than 18 years old or live outside the United States, read the terms and conditions to see if you qualify to participate in the survey.

Final Thoughts

The income from online surveys will not replace your full-time income. Even the best survey sites on the internet can’t pay you enough money to change your life. You should view online surveys as entertainment and not a source of income.

Secondly, read all the terms and conditions on the survey websites you’re interested in. Knowledge is power, and knowing what you’re getting into will help you manage your expectations.
