12. Get A Payday Loan

When I need money urgently, getting a payday loan is one of my least favorite things to do. That’s because most payday loans tend to be loan sharks, and they prey on the vulnerable.

However, if there’s absolutely no other option, then you got to do what you go to do.

Getting a payday loan should be the last option, especially if you’re not sure how to repay. That’s because payday loans can turn into nightmares.

However, if you are sure about how to repay, then, by all means, go ahead and get the loan. After all, you don’t have anywhere else to get the money.

13. Borrow Money From Friends And Family

You will be surprised how your financial situation could be solved simply by placing a phone call to a friend or family.

One of the keys to successfully borrowing money from your friends and family is developing the habit of paying back.

Nobody, including your friends and family, wants to lend money to someone who is not going to pay them back. But if you develop the habit of paying your debts, you should have no problem getting small loans from your friends and family.

14. Use Your Credit Card

Sometimes, there’s no way to get money from anywhere, and you are constrained to use your credit card. There’s nothing wrong with using your credit card to take care of urgent expenses. However, you need to replenish the money before the credit card company reports to the credit bureau. Failing to do so may affect your credit score negatively.

You can also use your credit card to get a cash advance. A cash advance is when you use your credit card to withdraw money from an ATM as you would with a debit card.

15. Sign Up With TaskRabbit

TaskRabbit, according to Wikipedia, is a mobile marketplace that matches freelance labor with local demand. It allows people to find immediate help with everyday tasks like plumbing, cleaning, delivery, moving, and handyman work.

If you have a special skill, you can find someone to pay you for those skills on Taskrabbit.

If for any reason you’re not comfortable using Taskrabbit, there are other apps just like it that you can use.

Apps Like TaskRabbit

  • Takl
  • Thumbtack
  • Shiftgig

16. Try Day Labor – Craigslist

Just like on TaskRabbit, you can also offer services on Craigslist. All you have to do is get on Craigslist and look under the”Gig” section. There you will find creative work, day laborer work, writing jobs, and even housekeeping jobs.

Depending on your preference and skills, you can get a job that will pay you cash.

If I need money urgently, that will be one of the first places I’ll look.

17. Find Off The Books Jobs

Off the books, under the table jobs are a great way to raise money when you desperately need it. These jobs pay cash, and that’s good. The problem is, they aren’t formal, and it is difficult to know where to get them.

Also, doing under the table jobs will preclude you from getting social security credits. To qualify for social security, you should have at least 40 credits, which will take about ten years of work on the books.

Hopefully, getting an under-the-table job will be a temporary thing.

18. Drive For Uber and Lyft

Sign up to drive for Uber and Lyft. Notice, I did not say Uber “or” Lyft. You should sign up for both services because when you have the time to drive, you will have a lot of customers from both apps.

When you drive for only one of the apps, there will be times when you wouldn’t have a customer. You will have to either drive around or keep your car parked until a customer books you. That won’t be the case if you are using both apps.

Here are the links to sign up for both apps.

  • Uber
  • Lyft

19. Do Freelance Work

According to Forbes, over 57 million American participates in the gig economy. The gig economy is a subsection of the labor market that is characterized by freelance and contract work.

23. Drop-Ship Online

Drop-shipping is sometimes called retail arbitrage. It is a situation where you find something cheap on one website and sell it for a profit on another website.

With drop shipping, you don’t have to see or touch the item physically. All you have to do is list it on your website or your eBay page. When someone buys it, you go to the site where it is cheaper, buy it and have it shipped to your customer as a gift.

You are sending it as a gift because you don’t want your customer to see how much you paid for the item.

One way to be successful at doing this is getting a browser extension that will find inexpensive items all over the internet. The extensions will also find coupons, deals, and promotions.

24. Consider Doing Odd Jobs

Have you heard about the website called Angie’s List? It is a great place to list your services.

25. Deliver Groceries

Do you like shopping? Well, you can get paid to do it. With apps like Instacart and Shipt, you can make money buying and delivering groceries to people.

Don’t worry, you’re not going to spend your money buying the groceries. The Instacart or Shipt customer will pay for all the groceries, and all you have to do is buy and deliver it. You’re something like a personal shopper, except you shop for groceries.

There’s nothing wrong with pawning your belongings to raise money. It is perfectly okay, especially if you are going to use the money for something important.

For example, if your love-one needs to be bailed out of jail and you don’t have the money, pawning your valuables to raise the money would be a reasonable thing to do. Not only will you raise the cash quickly, but you will also help someone you love.
